Came here for my birthday dinner. I was satisfied with all the dishes that we ordered. I would say the portion size is small, so expect to order multiple dishes to be full. Great to try different dishes and share with friends. My personal favorite is the bone marrow pasta. Our group sat outside because the inside was too crowded and noisy --it was still noisy out but it was to be expected.

Stunning from start to finish. Michael was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic in every description. Chef bites were impeccable surprises as course interludes. Neither my husband nor I could pick a favorite dish, but anything that was offered off-menu absolutely delighted us besides the uniformly strong Prix fixe menu. Chef Suzette made effortless accommodations for my dietary requirements. Each staffer on the floor made our entire dining experience smooth as butter. Wholeheartedly recommend for a truly elegant, informed dinner in SF.

Acquerello has superior service - don't get me wrong. I really want to give the restaurant above 3 stars, but felt that the food was sub-par. Fortunately, the wine they recommended me (DK - Cabernet) was superior. They started off with 2 complimentary appetizers. Absolutely delicious to cleanse the pallet and kick off with a burst of flavor. I ended up getting the ravioli, beef tartar, the halibut, chocolate mousse, and a bunch of plates from the dessert menu. I also tried the lobster. I was very disappointed in the halibut. It was extremely dry. The lobster was delicious, but on the small side. The ravioli didn't really pack a punch in flavor. The beef tartar was pretty good as well. The dessert at the end was OK - the macaroons weren't bad, but nothing spectacular. A bit too soft. The service here is superior though. They bring you bread, water, and food quickly and diligently. I would return for the service alone. I'd go in with slightly lower expectations for a Michelin 1. I'll give this place another try and get the seasonal menu.
