Alamo Drafthouse Cinema
American · The Mission · $
The anticipated San Francisco debut of this Austin-based movie house, bar and restaurant chain lands in the Mission, where midpriced New American fare pairs well with craft beer, cocktails and boozy milkshakes. The thoughtfully restored 1920s theater features an on-site bar, a buzz-worthy lineup of new releases and indie films, and meals delivered to your theater seat.

Visiting Alamo Draft House Cinema is delightful. Different activities happen in different parts of the building: there is a bar or two, pinball machines, a couple of movie theaters, and yet it's not overwhelming. It's interesting to stop by and explore even without going to the movies. At the movies, there are little tables by the chairs, and one can order drinks and snacks: vaguely sophisticated bar fare or popcorn. Drinks come in real glasses, and popcorn in metal bowls, so it feels almost fancy. The staff is friendly, except one person was unnecessarily thorough recently on teaching me how to order properly, but that was just once. I would recommend purchasing movie theaters in advance, because the theaters are small, and the place understandably popular.

Best movie theater with food in SF. Great beer selection, and large and good food menu. I recommend a flat bread or the truffle Parmesan popcorn. You can order food/drink sitting at your seat and a waiter will bring it to you! One large movie theater and several smaller ones. Great for both smaller indie films and also the big blockbusters. All theaters here have reserved seating, make sure you buy your tickets in advance. Great theater, highly recommend!

Went to see latest Star Wars movie. The big screen is the only way to watch visual effects. Food is OK. Great beer selection. Full bar for before or after the movie I have been here several times and always enjoy it.
