“Flavors straight out of Caracas” are stuffed into “fluffy” , affordable arepas at these “something-different” Astoria Venezuelans; the bite-size Cafe original sports a “diner atmosphere” that suggests “takeout” , but the Grill offshoot is roomier, with a broader menu that includes Caribbean and Med dishes.

Only had their food on delivery but it was great! So I can only imagine it being better in house! Stopped by and loved the ambience and plan to return for brunch!

Arepas Grill is a tasty Venezuelan restaurant in Astoria. Service was polite and efficient, though a bit slow, even on an off-hour. I tried an arepa pabellon (which, per their menu is shredded beef, black beans, fried sweet plantains and tropical white cheese in a cornmeal pocket) and really enjoyed it. It was served with two sauce bottles, one green and one light orange. The light orange was sweet and spicy, and the green was mild and savory. I used and enjoyed both sauces. The arepa itself had juicy meat, and a good flavor. I will definitely be back. One thing that's annoying is that there is a $10 card minimum. Not the end of the world, but still annoying. Even after explaining that I literally had no cash, I still had to buy a random dessert to push the total to over $10. Oh, well.

The lighting was really dim. Just barely able to read the menu. There was a constant cold breeze across my legs, despite sitting away from the door. Waiter staff was great but all the appetizers and the entrees came out at the same time. My group loved the food.
