Hot spot for Spanish & Moroccan fare
Spanish · Mount Vernon Square · $$$
Celebrity chef Mike Isabella steers the kitchen at this dramatic Mt. Vernon Square Marriott hotel venue that offers large share plates (such as bomba rice dishes) inspired by southern Spain, Portugal and North Africa, accompanied by clever cocktails and sangrias. Entered through a long, narrow passageway, the sun-washed, deep blue–toned dining room, bar and lounge areas are brightened with flowers and Moorish touches.

We had a 60% strike rate with dishes that we enjoyed but fortunately the dishes that hit the mark, absolutely knocked it out of the ball park! Great menu to evaluate and we would have had two of the platters because the first one lasted less than a moment. Beautiful and intimate restaurant with really terrific service .

The food is outstanding, the service is incredible, they really take details into matters, they cut the ice to fit the glass to make it perfect, the way they garnish the drinks it’s unbelievable. The bartender took 3 minutes to make a drink. Such an awesome experience. If you are in DC this is a must

Had lunch here and the experience was not great. We might have been an outlier, and there was a huge conference going on, but here is what we thought. The food was interesting and mostly good, but not as good as you would expect based on the prices. I had a sausage with potato leek stew, and they did not drain off any of the fat from the sausage, so the plate was all fat. Mediterranean lemonade was very good. But someone else ordered orange juice and it was so bad he couldn't drink it. Tasted like it came from a can. Burnt eggplant (that''s what it was called) was so so.
