"Everything is made with care and attention to detail" at this Mission Californian from Daniel Patterson and chef Brett Cooper, whose "dazzling" seasonal plates are accompanied by "excellent" wines in a "close-knit setting" with booths and communal seating; some find the portions "a bit too small" for the "upscale" tabs, though "foodies" feel the tasting menu is "well worth the money."

Amazing food. Every dish was delicious and well presented. They offered a wine pairing that worked out most of the time. We had two vegetarians in our group, and they were delighted with the caliber of dishes the chef prepared. Would definitely eat at Aster's again.

Food was very tasty and good but the portions size and service were not.. If you offer a wine pairing to go with the dishes of the day, I would hope the staff would know why each wine was chosen for the selected dish. Very unhelpful and did not make the experience feel special

In Aster's effort to serve you something unique it's sacrificed the pleasure of a good meal. I didn't enjoy my meal, instead I left with a bad taste in my mouth. My date got sick outside the restaurant. More it didn't seem like our neighboring dinners were truly happy with their food. Every plate the server picked up still had food on it. Even the desserts.
