Modern Louisiana fare & craft cocktails
Contemporary Louisiana · Uptown · $$
The Zagat Review
This "hidden neighborhood gem" rewards "locals and tourists" who venture "off the beaten path" Uptown with an "excellent" menu full of "creative" Contemporary Louisiana offerings, all served by a "charming" staff in an "intimate" space trimmed with salvaged materials; the "awesome" weekend brunch entices patrons to "spend the day slurping up the Bloody Mary bar and swaying to live music" – just "make sure to make a reservation" ; P.S. brunch, minus the music, is also offered Monday, Thursday and Friday.

So much fun! This is a smaller venue that can get packed up fairly quickly, but don't let that turn you away because the crowd was fun. They had a live jazz band there on the weekend, and it really lifts people spirits. We went for Brunch and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend their Shrimp and Grits creation and make sure you have an appetite. They had two bartenders that were quick, efficient, and creative; So be sure to try on of their craft cocktails. Or, you might enjoy their Bloody Mary bar where you can create your own drink. I would plan to spend some time at the restaurant, and make sure to place your reservations. The food comes out in a timely manner and the wait staff was very attentive, but you'll want to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Pricey but big portions! Got the pork chop and it was easily 2 full meals for me. It was tasty but other items fell a bit flat (the fish, cornbread, greens). Service was incredibly slow; on a Tuesday night it took over an hour to get our food. Wouldn't recommend this as a good place to bring young kids nor if you're not ok with having a 2+ hour long dinner.

Nice restaurant, upscale, slightly off Magazine street. Food and atmosphere were great, focused on local cuisine - different from the fast/pub food focus on Magazine street. Pricey but worth the splurge for a special occasion like a romantic date. Very limited parking in the area. Reservations recommended.
