Turning “preconceived notions of vegan food on their head” , this “cozy” East Villager crafts plant-based small plates that are “exquisite for the eye and palate” , served up in “rustic” digs with a kitchen-facing bar; the check “can add up fast” , but to most the “provocative” experience is “worth the extra cash.”

Went here for a work holiday party. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves, and had a tasting menu. I'd never been to a vegan restaurant before so was a little skeptical, but was SO SO happy with the result. The food was DELICIOUS and the server explained everything in meticulous detail. One of the people in our party was gluten free and the restaurant was gladly able to accommodate for every dish. Would definitely go again on my own.

Small, fantastic, all-vegetarian restaurant with great food and service. Not a lot of space, so you should definitely make a reservation in advance (I used open table). The food selection was amazing, and everything we had was very good -- and a good selection of wine as well. You watch them making the food (if you sit at the counter), and you can tell they are enjoying making this great food ALMOST as much as you are enjoying eating it! Great all around, and I will definitely be back!

This place was the first place I ate on the first night of my first trip to New York. It. Was. Wonderful. The level of ingenuity required to create the flavor combos especially made for a vegan experience is absolutely magical. (Seriously, who makes pasta out of celery root?!) I sat at the chef's table to see the art created right before me and had a lovely chat with them! It's a warm and lovely space and it's located in a very special area in NY. Please do come here. Vegan or not. The food is amazing.
