Service

“Huge portions” of "home-cooked" Egyptian-leaning Middle Eastern fare are served by an “attentive” staff in a "well-appointed, calm" setting at this BYO “find” in Logan Square; “affordable” prices are another reason many recommend it “when visiting the Franklin Institute” or other Parkway museums.

Aya's could have been a 5 star for me but had to get a 3. We all ordered kabobs and kofta. I will say the food was spiced well and flavorful but all of our food was overcooked and more than slightly burnt. The rice was good but served room temp. Maybe this is Egyptian style but not to my liking. We actually waited a bit more than I expected for the food given that the restaurant was not crowded. With the char and the wait I would have given it a 5.

Their meat dishes are succulent and so flavorful. The interior of the restaurant feels cozy. It's also BYOB!

This place is a hidden gem! The sampler appetizer was wonderful. I also had the "Vegan Mousakka" and was very impressed. A must-try!
