3 stars because our server was not terrible (when she was around), but if I were to base this review solely on the food, 3 stars would be generous. Everything was over salted and not presented in an appetizing way. The octopus wasn’t terrible but small, especially compared to the heaping portions of the rest of the plates placed on our table. It’s fine, a bit pricey for salt-flavored dishes. It probably could be a good restaurant, but it’s not.

Had dinner at Balise this evening. Stand outs were the mussels and prawns / shrimp. Beef short ribs were lovely and so were the prawn fritters but the mussels and prawns were next level. Serving size was very generous and service was prompt and warm. Overall a great night out and comes recommended.

Excellent in every way! Great food. Attentive service. Subtle flavors and creative presentation with good sized portions. I shared a salad, appetizer and dessert and all were exceptional. And plenty of food!
