A Tokyo native and Pegu Club vet is behind this “lovely” LES bar offering “divine” Japanese-inspired cocktails and “delicious” izakaya bites, including okonomiyaki pancakes that are “a true revolution starter” ; fans can also leave the “small but lovely” surrounds without having spent a fortune.

Is it Japanese, speakeasy and a eatery, kind of. Its combination of all three is why it earn 4 stars, but also the very reason behind of not getting get 5 in my review. One of the major drawback was it's noise level and how it lost it appeal as what it once know for its zen and chill vibe as a Japanese bar (even as an imitation). Do note this is base on my review on a Friday night, so to be fair perhaps it's a little better during the weekday?

Amazing service food and cocktails in a small casual setting. The celery is a must try! Just do it.

Really lovely cocktails in a dark, cozy, lively spot. Okonomiyaki was crazy delicious and closest to what I experienced in Hiroshima - mostly thanks to cheese and really crispy edges. Bench seating is definitely comfortable and cool, but a little close, so maybe best for hanging with a good friend or close partner.
