The “rewards” are many at Jonathan Waxman’s West Village Italian, from the “simple” yet “delicious” menu starring his “legendary” roast chicken to the “vibrant” garage/urban setting; the “scene-oriented” crowd’s “punishing” acoustics are eased in warm weather “when the doors are up.”

What a cool place: an old garage transformed into a great restaurant! Very noisy, but it was fabulous. We were nicely accommodated for our 30th wedding anniversary trip from Florida. Thank God that chef friend Daniel Bloom recommended this restaurant. The food was perfect and the view of the kitchen was great. These folks worked had the entire visit. I will easily recommend Barbuto for dinner.

Second visit here. I want to like it, I really do. I think the restaurant itself is charming. The food is fine. I don’t mind the noise factor at all. But the service is a bit lax. And the wine prices are truly alarming.

Good, but disappointed with the chicken they are famous for. It is good, maybe great chicken, but in the end it is just chicken...nothing I would recommend to others. The squid ink pasta was much better and the appetizer s were great.
