“Incredible” pizzas, “farm-to-table” salads and other “serious” eats, plus a budino dessert that’s “out of this world” , come out of the open kitchen at this Mediterranean in Washington Square West; although some report “jackhammer” -like decibels and “cramped seating” , most consider it a “win every time.”

Dark, dimly lit, nice looking place. Was at more than 90% capacity yet I was seated quickly. When I placed my order, the server asked if I had any food sensitivities. Why is this the first restaurant that has asked that up front? I don’t yet that is very appreciated. The seared branzini was excellent and artfully served. I noted a nearby braised rib was also served with visual appeal. as the service was quick despite the crowd. Not very expensive either. A very enjoyable experience.

Nice atmosphere, very dim lightning. Offers seating both outside and in front of the kitchen so you can watch them cook. Was pretty crowded up until around 10. I very much enjoyed the food and they had a nice selection to choose from. Only downside is that they serve it to you as it comes out of the kitchen so everyone might not eat at the same time. Our waitress recommended that the plates were for sharing, but I thought the portions might be a little small for that and would recommend everyone get their own plate. Also service was on the slow side as took a while once we sat down for our server to take our drink and food order, and she barely came back after that. Overall though I think the food and atmosphere was enough to outweigh that.

Made a reservation for 9pm but was free an hour earlier. Host was kind enough to offer a chefs counter spot that someone had not shown up to claim. With two friends we ordered cocktails, and a variety of small plated. After watching gnocchi be made multiple times, we ordered it and it was delicious. Happy to say we had 3 desserts to share in the end. All tasty. All shareable. All good.
