Fisherman's Wharf bread buffs who "watch and smell" the signature sourdough being made at this "old favorite" head upstairs to its "semi-fancy" dining space, where "must-not-miss" clam chowder is served along with other "hearty" , "basic" Cal dishes; service is "efficient" but "limited" amid the "hustle and bustle" of "tourists" vying for the "beautiful" views of the bay.

I ate the bread bowl with clamp chowder and have no regrets. I'm from a landlocked state with "sandy" calm chowder and was delighted to eat a bowl that didn't crunch under my teeth. The bread was some of the best I've ever had. As someone from the South it was rather weird to be served unsweetened tea and then not have real sugar on the table!

Amazing place to visit if you are in the Fisherman's Wharf area of San Francisco. I have only been once but I would easily go back again, I had the sourdough tacos and I tried all three different varieties of the fillings. The atmosphere and the view was amazing, plus after dinner or lunch you can self tour the sourdough bakery. It's a pretty amazing process to watch.

Service was great. Food was great. Speed was great. No complaints. I had the lemon and butter sole fish and my husband had the chicken club sandwich. Had the baked goat cheese for appetizer.
