Fans call Philippe Jeanty's "iconic bistro" a "real star" in Yountville, where "consistently fabulous" , "very traditional French countryside" dishes (the "delectable" tomato soup is a "must" ) are delivered by a "terrific" staff in a homey setting that's "très charmant" ; all-day hours and a communal table make it ideal for dropping by "on the way to Napa" or "after a long day of wine tasting" , particularly on the patio that "overlooks the vineyards."

Solid French food in a tranquil setting in Yountville. Never felt rushed by the staff at any point during the meal. Great wine selection (international and local) with a terrace and indoor seating. Looks like a bistro in the heart of Paris. Food was good, large portions so we couldn't finish. Figure this is good for some, not necessarily for others.

Very cozy atmosphere, great food, and friendly staff! We had the short ribs and they were so tender and delicious, no knife required! They’re very busy even ok weeknights so unless you don’t mind waiting I’d suggest making a reservation.

Unfortunately my experience was not good. This is a French restaurant that looked very cozy and warm, but our waiter's attitude lowered the temperature (he was a bit of a putz). I ordered the tomato soup - and it was a huge disappointment (it was a nice rose sauce for pasta). For main course I tried the venison special and aside from the meat itself everything was good (but the meat was not). The bread pudding desert was great. If it wasn't that expensive I would have given it 4 stars, but I guess I expected more due to what people told me about the place.
