“Hobnob with the NBC crowd” and others “happily expensing their meals” at Laurent Tourondel's “heart-of-Rock-Center” brasserie providing a “sumptuous art deco” setting for “good” (if “not spectacular” ) French cooking; the “fascinating people-watching” from its “amazing” patio supplies added “fun.”

My friends and I decided to meet for an overdue Happy Hour the end of this past May. I insisted on sitting outdoors since it was a nice day, and having previously worked in the area, we decided on Brasserie Ruhlmann. We were thinking to have dinner there for old time's sake. Well, I can tell you the outdoor Happy Hour was fun people watching but a disappointment overall. My best friend's boyfriend was complaining quite a bit due to the poor service we were receiving and I did not care for the (in my opinion) unpalatable but expensive drinks on Brasserie Ruhlmann's happy hour menu. Needless to say, we decided to go elsewhere for dinner. Too bad as my best friend and I hadn't eaten there for quite some time and were looking forward to it....

Host said they would be happy to accommodate an infant. Then after waiting for a table they suddenly rejected us...

They were out of all 4 types of beer. Drinks took a long time. A bit pricey. But that's midtown I guess...
