“Nostalgia” and seasonal ice cream flavors add up to “a lot of fun” at this Carroll Gardens homage to “old-school soda shops” , where the sundaes, egg creams and such – plus “simple, satisfying” diner staples – are “expertly” dispensed by “friendly” staffers; housed in a “beautiful” restored apothecary, it's “retro” to the core.

The prices made my eyeballs snap out of my head. The place is cute and all, but I'm sorry, $18 for a sundae? What planet am I on? This is Brooklyn, not Paris! I was there with two kids and we ended up shelling out $40 for one sundae, a milkshake, and an egg cream. On top of that, the egg cream was small and in the wrong glass, and the milkshake was made with ice in it to stretch the ice cream, so there were unpleasant ice pellets in it. AND service was slow in an empty restaurant that regularly runs out of vanilla on Mondays. Yes the kids enjoyed it but they're not discerning and not paying for it. Never, ever again.

I mainly go here for the fun location and when I have major sugar needs. The desserts aren't amazing, but they make up by being decadent and sweet. The hotdog wasn't bad, and I almost entirely avoid those things. I also tried their famous egg cream, but didn't become a fan.

Like stepping back in time to an old soda shop and getting a egg cream. This restored old Pharmacy made into an old ice cream shop is full of history and a very awesome place to visit. The place is like stepping into a time machine. The food was great and the Egg Cream was like being a kid again. The sundaes were huge and unique in some of there flavors. I had tried a cappuccino sundae that was just incredible. I would surely suggest a ride and try it out. in a beautiful area of brooklyn...You will not be disappointed.
