Bub City
Country bar with American comfort food

The Zagat Review
You can have a "country good time" at these "upbeat" BBQ joints dishing "good ol'” Southern comfort food ( "super-creamy" mac 'n' cheese, "orgasmic" spoonbread) in sprawling digs with a "down-home" atmosphere and entertainment from "up-and-coming" bands; sure, they can get "loud" and draw a "rowdy crowd" on weekends, but they work for a "fun night out."

Staff was friendly. The live music was awesome. It made me feel like I was sitting in a bar in Nashville even though I was in the middle of Chicago. One thing to keep in mind is that they're primarily a Whiskey bar. They didn't have a lot of options for someone like me who's gluten free and can't have whiskey or beer. But all in all it was an awesome experience and we really enjoyed it. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently which was a bit plus in my book.

It was an okay place. Probably wouldn’t go back though. I was kinda disappointed too. Especially when you pay almost $20 for their brisket and only get three strips. That’s not even close to a pound. So the portion size was really small. Also ordered fried pickles (love fried pickles and haven’t had any in awhile and was excited to get some) but they were not good at all and tasted burnt. Couldn’t finish them. The only good thing from this visit was their tank of Moscow mule that everyone at the table ordered. I guess this place is only good for their drinks.

Great place to hang, either for lunch or into the evening and catch some live music. I miss the dance floor at the old place but I'll take what I can get. Amazing food and amazing staff, not a whole lot more you can ask for
