“Genuine” Austrian “classics” like wursts and schnitzel are “produced with a deft hand” at this Lower Eastsider, a “local hot spot” run by a “hospitable” team; the “homey” quarters, “excellent beer selection” and “companionable clientele” all play a part in the “gemütlichkeit.”

One of my favorite restaurants. Good food and good beer. Great ambience. The staff is always so friendly!

Authentic Austrian food, with a cozy rustic decor in Manhattan Lower East Side. I had the Schnitzel and the Pickled Herring was amazing. All portions were generous and the price was fair. Our waitress was extremely helpful in explaining the menu. The restaurant has both a bar and table service.

Great, casual Austrian place. Can't wait to go back. The Schnitzel was properly cooked, which is something of a rarity in NY in my experience, since most places fry it to death. And it came with the berry sauce! Also, good selection of German and Austrian beers. I was very happy about the Stiegl on tap.
