The Zagat Review
“Everything is delicious” at these “popular” Moroccan “standbys” that are especially known for their “unbeatable” brunches; “tight seating” and “long waits” are part of the deal, but “gentle prices” help, and Williamsburg's “cute indoor garden” is especially “charming.”

The only complaint I have is that long wait till you get seated. This is also an indication of how good and popular the place is. Last weekend I made the mistake of bringing a big party (2 families, 9 seats). We had to wait for a whole hour. Smaller parties are easier to seat though. I first came here 20 years ago. Not much has changed except the place doubled in size after it acquired the next door book store and removed the wall in between the two "holes in the wall" size establishments.

The lunch special is a pretty great deal, appetizer and main course that we're both delicious. The presentation of the tagines isn't anything like Morocco, but the taste is pretty darn close and the soup was delicious. The chicken was super tender and the couscous was better than I expected. Good service and plenty of seating make this a go to spot for me. Went back for dinner, and everything was still great. The lamb was delicious and cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and fast despite the crowd.

I used to come here all the time in as a senior undergrad with my friends. 10 years later still great food and customer service. Take into account I came right after the dinner rush around 8:30 on a Wednesday night, I was seated right away. Since I hadn't been to the restaurant in a while I asked for recommendations and my server has suggested the leg of lamb for entree and an appetizer of the pickled beets. I've never had pickled beets so I was a little wary but decided to give it a try. It was slightly sweet so it was delicious and the leg of lamb was tender and cooked perfectly medium like I asked. Because I felt like I should have some greens I also later ordered a side salad which was lacking in greens and they gave me more than enough. 150% when it comes to quality in customer service and quality of food. Granted it was a Wednesday night but the restaurant was just as I remembered it warm and cozy. There is still an outside garden that's good for lunch or brunch on the weekends.
