Upscale New American dining on the river
New American · $$$
The Zagat Review
Set in a "beautiful location" on the Chattahoochee River in Vinings, this "impressive" , "casually elegant" New American mainstay remains "one of Atlanta's best" for "romantic" dinners, "business lunches" or "special events" ; chef Matthew Basford's "fab" menu is served by a "superb" , "attentive" staff in "classy" , "warm" environs, and most consider it "outstanding in every way."

Excellent service, great atmosphere and appetizing food. Canoe is an Atlanta institution so my expectations were high but they were all exceeded. I recommend a table on the outside patio durring sunset but the inside is also very nice. We were served by Hannah who was awesome. She was fun, knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend Canoe!

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time last night and we will DEFINITELY be back! The cucumber oysters on the half shell were delightful and refreshing. He had the NY Strip and I had the Duck Breast, and both were insanely tender. I truly cannot get over how tender and delicious the duck was. Dessert was equally as delicious - not one aspect of the meal was less than stellar. We had Jared as our server and he was an absolute delight. The service was wonderful all night, and we will be requesting him when we go back! He definitely made our experience a great one!

Went for Sunday brunch with the hubs on a whim... so lucky we arrived at 10:30am when they opened because the dining room was already booked in advance! We snagged a table by the bar which was full service and had a brunch feast! We ordered a pastry basket that had 2 sticky buns, a regular scone and a savory blue scone, all were incredible. The salmon toast was tasty, but not something I'd order again just bc there was so many other yummy things. We ordered the corn cakes breakfast entree with soft scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes...unbelievable!!! We split the breakfast and it was still a lot of food! We licked our plates clean, and then managed to scarf down a house made cracker Jack ice cream sundae! Food was incredible, the service was impeccable, it was an all around 5 star experience. We even tried to make official reservations for 2 weeks later and it was booked! So plan far ahead, or roll the dice with the bar seating like we did!
