Carousel Bar
Iconic hotel lounge with revolving bar

The Zagat Review
"If you loved the carousel as a kid" you'll "fall for" this "charming" , "historic" haunt in the French Quarter's Hotel Monteleone where a "360-degree bar" and "expertly crafted" cocktails send you "spinning" ; it's "always filled" with "visitors, locals" and maybe even the ghost of "Tennessee Williams" , so go "early" or try the expanded lounge where live music (Wednesdays–Saturdays) helps make an already "classic" destination "even better."

The Carousel Bar is a very cool experience. It opens at 11am and I would suggest getting there early and waiting for the opening of the doors. There will be people waiting and otherwise you will have to sit elsewhere and miss the rotating bar... or wait to cycle in as people leave. That could be problematic if you have a number of people in your group. It's kind of a novelty stop and I would say you would not want to spend a lot of time here... it's simply something you have to do when you're in the area. They get 5 stars for giving me exactly the experience I was hoping for.

A unique and very busy bar inside Hotel Monteleone. The bar itself resembles a carousel, hence the name. My friend and I visited several times. Not just for the drinks, but for the desserts. The drinks are pricey, but very good. In my opinion, you get your money's worth. The desserts were the real highlight for me. They're $9 each, but absolutely worth it. I tried 3 different ones and all were fabulous.

Carousel bar very nice, food and drinks average. You only have to go once. Other bartenders were pleasant our never smiled.
