"If you loved the carousel as a kid" you'll "fall for" this "charming" , "historic" haunt in the French Quarter's Hotel Monteleone where a "360-degree bar" and "expertly crafted" cocktails send you "spinning" ; it's "always filled" with "visitors, locals" and maybe even the ghost of "Tennessee Williams" , so go "early" or try the expanded lounge where live music (Wednesdays–Saturdays) helps make an already "classic" destination "even better."

Really nice place and atmosphere. Good cocktails as well, the only thing is that it is a bit "too noisy". They need curtains or some kind of textile to get it a bit more tranquil and mysterious. But well worth a visit, so nice with the carousel that actually moves!

This bar is on all of the “must see” lists and is, indeed, very neat. However, don’t count on getting to sit at the carousel bar itself, which has surprisingly few seats which are always full. The bar was crowded during both of my visits, but the service was prompt and polite. Drinks were mixed properly, and the menu included a good number of quality classic cocktails.

Everytime we walked by this place was packed we finally decided to go when it first opens. There are two doors to get in and an entrance through the neighboring restaurant. The door closest to the hotel check-in counter opens first but I think it's even faster to enter through the neighboring restaurant. The bar tenders are amazing to watch and it's totally worth it to make the stop here.
