CHAYA Downtown
Refined Asian fare in a stylish setting
Japanese · Downtown · $$$
Part of the Chaya empire, this "classy" Downtown eatery is a "favorite" for business lunches and pre-theater dining thanks to its "creative, delicious" Asian-French fusion fare and "terrific cocktails" served by a "brisk, professional" staff in a "stylish" , "sophisticated" setting; some say prices are "best suited for an expense account" , or try a seat at the "happening" bar for nibbles and drinks at happy hour.

Been here once. Downtown LA Location is great especially for business lunches. Deco is very modern and looks good. Food leaves a lot to be desired. Had the simply grilled fish and I guess they meant it literally. Got a grilled salmon surrounded by kale with a sprinkling of diced carrot. As plain as could be. As a $25 lunch it was a rip-off. I usually give a place more than one chance with food so I’ll probably give it one more chance.

Small portion but tasty. Too fancy for me though

Service is good but the food was just ok. I ordered the wagu fried rice and it was ok. They have some really good fried calamari that was battered with quenwa (only spelled right). Had their fresh fish which was also just ok
