Fans get their "Paris fix" at these "casual" bistros known for their "classic brunch" and other "simple" French dishes including mussels, steak frites and a "delicious" burger; the "charming" Potrero Hill original is "intimate (read: small)" , while the slightly larger Hayes Valley outlet offers "European" -feeling sidewalk seating.

I love this place for brunch! It's a French restaurant and the wait staff are all French (unnecessary but just adds character). Hayes Valley in general has a Parisian feel and this restaurant shares that motif. Very dog friendly with heated outdoor seating and they bring your dog a water bowl - which is always appreciated :) Egg dishes are very good: poached eggs, eggs benedict, etc.

Waited forever, but it was the weekend at night. Still. It was cold and I'd rather just go to Taco Bell...I'm not a person of high taste. My husband and our friend enjoyed their burgers, but my mac n cheese was more like mac n, well, mac. The cheese was there, but it tasted kind of like nothing... Maybe like milk? I'm a dollar menu kind of person so take this review with that in mind.

Chez maman is a great place to get some down to earth, tasty, yet affordable french bistro favorites. Their mussels mariniere are delicious; just the right balance of white wine acidity and richness! The french onion soup is also a favorite. A dinner for two (with drinks and a shared salad) came out to $65 (before tip), which is a great deal by SF standards. The only drawback is that this particular location is always always crowded...
