China Live is a great place to eat really delicious and traditional Chinese food in an awesomely relaxed atmosphere with absolutely fantastic service. Try the soup dumplings for something fun and tasty! This location offers casual dining and an Asian gift store on the first floor, a whisky bar on the second, and, a more upscale fine dining Asian fusion fare on the 3rd floor. It is just a mile from Fisherman's Wharf, so, it is an easy walk or drive if you are out sight seeing. Dining at China Live is a must if you are in the mood for an excellent dining experience.

Amazing decor and feel. We both really enjoyed how hip and nice the place was. There was a great energy and it was fun to watch them make some of the food (we were seated at the bar). The food was good but did not meet expectations. The pan fried pork dumplings were great! Slightly doughy, but crunchy on the bottom, and a great pork flavor. Must have. Everything else we got wasn’t amazing. Most food is a slightly adventurous take on common Chinese cuisine. The changes or adjustments didn’t hit the spot, but there were so any interesting things that we will for sure go back to give it a second shot. The other 3 things we ordered were the orange chicken (weak orange flavor but very tender), the pork water dumplings (kind of mushy and too much ginger), and the soup dumplings. 1/4 dishes I would have again.

Cool and hip restaurant. I like how they are making Chinese food more high end and approachable from a western perspective. The stores and market place I do like. But as one poster noted that the food is really expensive and the taste/quality does not match. Your really paying for the vibe.
