The Zagat Review
The "nostalgic" , "old-world" ambiance will "make you feel like a king or queen" at this "genteel" Garden District Creole icon – as will the "first-class" staff that treats "everyone the same: spectacularly" ; "rich" , "leisurely" dinners are an "experience to savor" , and made even more "epic" by a "phenomenal wine list" , so it's a "splurge" that's "worth every penny" , though some "prefer" the "fabulous" lunch (could it be the "25-cent martinis" ?); P.S. no shorts or T-shirts; jackets suggested for men.

Insider Tip
In the summer, the restaurant sells off inventory from their wine cellar at half price. There's one catch: You have to mention the phrase "GrapeNutes" when making a reservation, then you'll receive the discounted wine list.

An institution of New Orleans in its own right, this fine dining restaurant is spectacularly top-notch. My three-course meal with turtle soup, seafood stew, and sorbet with crystallized sugar (suggested by the server on the account of my lactose intolerance) were every bit phenomenal. Even though we were sitting at the back, it was great to see the garden through the panoramic windows. The attentive service was the icing on the cake. I appreciated the fact that the owner, Mrs. Brennan, came to our table to check on us. Reserve well ahead in advance. It’s well worth the few minutes of planning it takes (or longer, as I’ve found, when I was put on hold for at least ten minutes before I get to talk to anyone on their reservation line).

Southern dining at its finest. My wife and I attended the new year's jazz brunch. It was our 10 year anniversary, so it needed to be special. The brunch was incredible. From the hostess to the waitress, top notch all the way! We will be back!

Not a tourist trap. Professional wait staff, excellent service, Hugo and Susan were very knowledgeable in the menu and the wine selection. Best fine dining in NOLA. The turtle soup was the best in town. Their signature dish the pecan crusted fish with a lite sauce was perfect not to rich or over powering. Had the harvest salad with watermelon radish. Finished with a lite and airy breading pudding. Highly recommend this restaurant.
