The Zagat Review
"Every meal is an experience" at this pricey, "tucked-away" spot where a "knowledgeable" staff serves a near- "perfect" , "imaginative" , "constantly changing" New American prix fixe menu in two seatings each night; the courses are posted weekly out front and online so you can "check what's being served before making reservations" – which are "a must" , as the "romantic, very quaint" dining room "sells out quickly" ; P.S. closes after the island's popular Christmas Stroll and reopens in spring.

Oh group of four enjoyed our evening at Company of the Cauldron. Certainly think there is room for improvement but believe the new ownership/chef is doing a pretty good job at this point as the food was delicious. We understand the serving style has changed from plated to family style but it wasn’t a bother. We missed the harp player not being there but outside of that we enjoyed the meal and the guests around us.

Waited 30 minutes outside for our reservations for the second seating prie fixe dinner. Tiny dining room way overcrowded. Tables had to be pulled out so people could get to their seats. Therefore it was way too LOUD. Service was slow and served Family style. Dessert was published as flourless chocolate cake but was subbed with amaretto sponge cake although a few people did get the chocolate cake. The main course of Steak and shrimp was wonderful. Just not worth the $109 per person price. Won’t go back.

It's so sad what happened to this once amazing restaurant. The "chef" should be ashamed of the food they served Monday (the once unbelievably great lobster night) and the price per person. It was ridiculous. Save you're money.
