Cortez Seafood and Cocktail
Fish & breezy drinks in a cool space
Seafood · $$
Seafood is the overarching theme of the assortment of raw, ‘raw-ish,’ and main plates (many with a slight Mexican accent) offered at this chef-driven Downtown destination, which also mixes up breezy craft cocktails. The culinary inspiration is reflected in the understated island setting with teal leather booths and a bar covered in opalescent marble scales.

Impressive food, service and ambience. Love this place. It's an open kitchen so you can see the team working on it. Looks so artsy. We ordered the crispy salmon(large plate) and the mushroom toast(small plate) and they were both really good. The most juiciest salmon I ever had.yumm We shared that between the two of us so it wasn't very filling. The place is a bit expensive, not an everyday place. Great for an occasion. If you haven't been here, I highly recommend that you do.

If I could give half stars Cortez would get 4.5 stars. The decor is very chill and tropical, the bar design is innovative, the cocktails delicious (the spicy hibiscus margarita was amazing), the foods was terrific especially the mushroom toast. The seafood is Kristine which is what I would expect from Locals Seafood who supply this restaurant. Very good food, but not one of those totally revelatory experiences that I've had at other restaurants. Service was good although a little slow at times. Overall very good and will be going again.

Crispy skin salmon is fantastic! We also love the weed bread & butter, the mussels and the oysters (happy hour is awesome!) Great cocktails as well! What’s not to love? Well except it’s small so it gets booked fast.
