Insiders insist "they invented the sizzling butter steak" at this circa-1934 Mid-City carnivorium where a "hardworking" crew serves "dry-aged" cuts "cooked to perfection" at prices that don't require "a second mortgage" ; the "authentic, old-school" backdrop feels "freeze-framed" in a "simpler time" , so "get a booth" , "close the curtain" and feel the "ghosts of politicians past" watch over your "clandestine business (or monkey business)."

Steak and Potatoes. Two simple ideas taken to their utmost at this incredible restaurant. Their steaks are to die for and very few places with such a "simple" menu can boast such a massive range of flavors. Their bar is also very well stocked, and the restaurant itself feels very old school, and has a very wonderful aesthetic. One of the older restaurants in the city, and home to many memories for many people. Amazing food, great atmosphere, what else could you want?

It's a small restaurant that's been there since the 1930's. The steaks were very good. Very tender. The sides were great too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that when we ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, we only got 3 mushrooms. I wasn't expecting only 3 mushrooms. Other than that, my husband and I will return.

The best! Great steaks, fish and fantastic cocktails. Manager Kelly is the best for party planning. They also have off-street parking
