Definitely “not Tex-Mex” , the “very authentic Mexico City food” served at this arty, contemporary cantina in Montrose is “something a little different” ; though service is not a strong point, the atmosphere is “fabulous” , leading fans to say it “should be packed at all times.”

This place was amazing. The waiters and staff were extremely nice. Easily the best I've seen. The food was something else. It was delicious. I've lived in the United States for 10 years and this is the best Mexican food I've had here. 10/10. The food was delicious and the interior was beautiful. Very unique. I recommend everyone to go here it is an amazing dining experience

Let me say right away that I do not like paying more than 20 dollars for an entree at a restaurant. Cuchara has an interesting menu, but it is comparatively expensive and you will have to get the server to explain what you are ordering unless you actually live in Mexico city. I ordered cheese enchiladas which cost 16 dollars and arrived cold. I ordered a diet Coke and they served it in a can. I object to paying fine dining prices for a restaurant which is not.

Parking is a bit frustrating unless you valet. The service was great! Food and cocktails were reasonably priced and delicious!! We were too late for brunch, but plan to go back soon to give it a try! I recommend the chicken tortilla or pazole soup! Margaritas are freshly made and tasty!! Will definitely visit again, esp for the spicy shrimp soup!!
