Service

Patrons have been filling the communal tables of this “iconic” Arthur Avenue Italian since 1962, despite no decor, “no menus” ( “you eat what they're cooking” ), “no checks” ( “trust the waiter” ) and no reservations or credit cards; “off-the-charts” food and “cost performance” make the “daunting waits” bearable, but to save time, go early.

A must place to go...food absolutely great. A great experience too. Unique in how they take your order. Food is prepared quickly. This restaurant is best for a large group 4 or more of people who love Italian food. Expect to be at a long table with others but they will respect you or if you want to talk about that great food, I'm sure they will too. Laid back atmosphere but servers are incredibly attentive. Simply great.

This hole in the wall on Arthur Ave is a great little gem. It has a verbal menu, as in there are no physical menus and the menu is posted on the wall in the back. The cafeteria-style seating creates a unique setting. I ordered the chicken parm and it was delicious and humongous, enough for two people. You should be advised that it is CASH only.

I have eaten at Dominick's for many years but my last visit was very disappointing. We ordered the cold antipasto which was good and also ordered meatballs over pasta with sauce. They didn't put enough sauce on the pasta and there was a lot of water at the bottom of the dish. The meatballs were very dry and bland. For the price they could have given us four meatballs and a bigger dish of pasta. It came out to be $60-$65 for the bill with these two dishes plus two sodas, before you order your dishes find out the price first I would never pay $25 for the meatballs and pasta.
