"Be hungry" before sitting down at this "unpretentious" Southern fixture in Chinatown’s Reading Terminal Market, known for "ample amounts" of "reliable" cooking at "reasonable prices" and "friendly folks" slinging it; though some dismiss it as a "tourist thing" , diehards insist "this is where Philly has breakfast."

We had breakfast at the down home diner. The atmosphere was nice, and the waitress was friendly. The food was not what we were hoping for. It was mostly very blend. The scrambled eggs were very wet. The pastries had no flavor. The only thing with flavor was sausage patty, but it wasn’t a good one. The aftertaste was a cleaning supply. Would not recommend going to this place.

Great food! Awesome service! Nice, quite place to eat. Went here for a mother, son day and we both enjoyed the experience.

Stopped here for a quick bite after being completely overwhelmed by the Reading market. The lemon poppy pancakes were very flavorful along with out other meal. This was my first attempt at scrapple.... and it was interesting. I'm not judging my review simply on scrapple, we enjoyed the restaurant. Very nice food with a wide array of options.
