Not a consistent venue. With a nice ambience the noise level on a Wednesday evening when not overly crowded was overwhelming. We were a party of four at a smallish table and could hardly hear one another.
As for the food, the Pea salad and Quail were average and wayyyyyy over priced. The Duck portion was so small it could have been an appetizer. The Strawberry/Rhubarb tart was more like a Scone very dry and almost tasteless.
Having eaten there several times this year, I doubt if we will go back.

Dudley's is a special occasion favorite. An experience is special when it's tough to replicate and it's tough to find another restaurant in Lexington that can replicate Dudley's. Ambience, quality of food, and service allows Dudley's to stand out. The whole restaurant feels open and bright, while at the same time feeling warm and cozy. The staff are friendly and know how to time their visits to the table. I've been to Dudley's for brunch, lunch, and dinner and it never gets too loud. You can really talk to your date, family, or friends. And finally, that food! Somehow they've managed to surprise me every visit. I've always left Dudley's thinking that's one of the best meals I've ever had. Valentine's Day dinner was exceptional this year and it's just a reminder of why this place is so special!

This is my favorite restaurant in Lexington. I've been many times for supper. BUT this last time, I made reservations for lunch with my son and was not overjoyed. We had reservations at 2:30 and there is a VERY limited menu of unimpressive food. That said, the supper menu is incredible and some of the very best food I've ever eaten anywhere. Definitely go, but go for an evening meal.
