This "out-of-the-way" Cajun-Southern "gathering place" in the French Quarter draws locals and visitors with "outstanding" farm-to-table "homestyle cooking" served up by a "knowledgeable" staff; prices are easygoing, and "you can't beat" the BYO policy – it's just another way this "go-to" offers "good value" ; P.S. weekend brunch is the perfect way "to regain strength" after some late-night carousing.

Eat is unpretentious yet creative and delicious. The staff are unobtrusive but always there when you need them. Home-style food with a twist and flair, plus top-shelf ingredients. The ambience is a bit noisy and bustling, and "unpretentious" (basic) but it is an honest meal at a good price and then some.

Ate here several times on our trip to New Orleans. The food was always super good. I love their fig and blue cheese torte. The BLT was huge and super delicious full of bacon and thick ripe but firm tomatoes. My children loved their mac and cheese. The owner is the chef and this place is a MUST to visit when visiting New Orleans or living there. I found the prices fair for the area and the location was the best in the French Market District. Yummy Yummy. Thanks to Yelp we found this place.

The service was sub-par at best. Upon first arriving, the waiter told me that they did not have sweet tea because "This is not the Carolinas". Next, he gave my friend attitude when she wanted scrambled eggs as opposed to fried eggs. Lastly, my third friend wanted more sauce for her eggs, and by the time the sauce came her eggs were cold and she needed new ones. Moreover, the waiter was not polite or kind. He never smiled or apologized. Overall, the food was bland and the service was bad. Do not go here.
