El Gato Negro
Mexican fare with inventive twists
Mexican · Warehouse District · $$
If you "can't be sitting oceanside in Mexico" , this chainlet is the "next best thing" say fans cheering the "delicious" Mexican fare and "top-shelf margaritas" ; they can get "crowded" (the French Quarter original has a "quaint patio" too), and otherwise solid service can "seem overwhelmed" when "busy" , but "reasonable prices" help distract.

It was ok, not great. The atmosphere is GREAT. the food was VERY overpriced. I had 1 margarita and a order of enchiladas. My bill was 38 bucks. The enchiladas weren't that great and had way too much cheese. I did like their tequila selection. They offer a LARGE variety of tequila. They also close at 3pm

I enjoyed the food, I had the Texaco burrito, pretty dope, the chips and salsa were good, someone said they were terrible in the reviews here, I call B.S. it wasn't the world's best salsa, but good. The service was good, very friendly server. The margaritas we had were awesome, huge selection of specialty margaritas! The only downfall was the prices. Basically no options under 10 bucks except for single tacos. One quesadilla, one burrito and two margaritas set us back over $50.

Great customer service. I ordered the stake tacos and they were great. But their Pineapple & cilantro (virgin) margarita was refreshing and delicious.
