El Poquito
Bright cantina for tacos, tequila & more
Mexican · Chestnut Hill · $$
This modern-meets-rustic cantina in Chestnut Hill serves a menu of tacos, enchiladas and ceviches washed down with tequilas, mezcals, margaritas and creative cocktails. The wood-clad decor is chic featuring seats around the bar as well as tables up against the exposed stone walls (one of which has a motorcycle up as art), and there's an outdoor patio for the warmer months.

Some of the most over-priced and overrated drinks. I think people mainly go there for the great outdoor seating. But the drinks are a ripoff. They don't even use coarse margarita salt on the rims, but table salt. And to charge $10 for a NON-ALCOHOLIC double margarita is ridiculous. They claim all the juice is hand-squeezed, but I really doubt this, it definitely seemed like a mix as there was no pulp or sediment whatsoever. The waitress didn't even do anything when we complained about the price of the drink. If I had known it would be $10, I would have gotten a lemonade! Chips are very greasy and food is generally overpriced as well.

I had heard great things about this place and last week I finally had the time to go. A very chill, casual atmosphere with very friendly staff. I had the carnitas tacos, which were very well seasoned and a joy to eat. Seriously. For dessert, I got the brownie sundae, and let me tell you, that caramel sauce is bomb. It has a slight kick to it, which makes it even more yummy. Probably one of the best brownie sundaes I've ever had. This is a pricey place, but the food is 100% worth it. I would definitely go back here. Highly recommend.

Too pricey for the food quality and service. Nice place, yet the food was uneventful. I ordered the tortilla soup, it was a very small portion and so salty I was not able to eat it. Sent it back to the kitchen and ordered the fajitas instead. Nice flavor but more peppers than chicken. Drinks were just ok too.
