The “food sings” at this “back-in-the-day” NoLita “red-sauce” joint that “looks like an Italian farmhouse hallway” and is “one of the last of a breed” (it's been around since 1956); owner Emilio is “always there” , and his presence “makes the evening complete.”

Just, wow. So glad I wandered in last week. I live in the area and this has made it onto my list of favorites. Can’t wait to return tonight. Great service. I felt like a pasta eating gangster lady.

We were looking for great Italian in NYC and ended up here based on a recommendation. Tried to call for a reservation and then thought we would just put our name on the list and try to go back later. Ended up waiting until we were sat and we are very glad we waited. Chicken parm was perfect as were the ravioli my fiance ordered. Reasonably priced for the quality. I'll go back next time I'm in the city and the only question is whether I'll try something new on the menu or just go with the same thing.

A go to place in the NoLita area. Small, family run restaurant where the food is reliably good and often excellent. The pasta Emilio was memorable today. Small but good selection of wines. I'm always happy when I leave, having had a good meal that is served with good cheer.
