Fat Sal's Deli
Counter-serve heroes, burgers & sides
Deli · Westwood · $
The brainchild of a trio of native New York buddies, this chain of casual, counter-serve spots specializes in loaded sandwiches, burgers and heroes stuffed with everything from fried eggs and chicken fingers to jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks. The decor is minimal, with a handful of stools and standing room to devour your meal upright, and late-night hours make it a prime choice for post-party dining.

This is definitely the spot right here if you want filling, savory, mouth-watering sandwiches. They pack everything you can think of into their sandwiches which forms a taste of unspeakable goodness. The best part is that they're open very late, so if you just came from a club/party/bar/ugly-night-out this is the perfect spot to be. You will see a lot of UCLA students drop by this spot during the wee hours of the night (some of them sober, others not so much...)

This made my first of many Fat Sal's experiences–a modest beginning just like the business itself. Sadly, my first time at Fat Sal's I got a veggie burger (which was very good, I must say!). Yet, this is not the place to get a veggie burger..you gotta go all out. So much food is given for the price in LA! It's craziness! Not only is the amount of food ridiculous (and delicious...not so nutritious), but the environment is sweet too. I enjoyed the right off the sidewalk stop. You feel as though you're still apart of the urban action while mowing down on a fat hero saving your cravings. The jams we're on par too. Fat Sal's had me feelin' fat in my mind, body, and soul. Check this out after bars!

Great sandwiches. Seems like the perfect after drinking spot. Gluttony at it's finest. Not a spot that I would drive out to, but only if in the area. About an hour later I felt like I wanted to down a gallon of water.
