Federalist Pig
Dry-rubbed BBQ in rustic-industrial digs
Barbecue · Adams Morgan · $
Pitmaster Rob Sonderman (ex DCity Smokehouse) fires up a slew of meats at this Adams Morgan BBQ central, offering wood-smoked, dry-rubbed pork, brisket, turkey and wings in sandwiches and platters, plus veggie sides. The rustic-industrial digs are outfitted with corrugated metal, repurposed church pews (with a stash of logs below) and a wall mural of a pig rendered by a local artist.

Great place! I've been there several times, each time a positive experience. I ate in both times and there was a guy going around keeping the place clean, making sure everyone had what they needed... Thumbs up dude! As for the food, it has good flavor with tender meat. I would suggest ribs or chicken wings and get the sauces to go with them, I mix them. The Mac and Cheese is on point, the brisket tasted like it's missing something. Overall A+. Would recommend.

Seating is slim but we managed to get a spot. The food was excellent! The guys running the spot are friendly and helpful. I imagine this place is packed most all the time. The prices aren't bad either. We paid a lot more nearby for similar food.

Best barbecue with 200 miles. Brisket is great, sausage is prodigious. Friendly staff, but it's all about the food. Don't sleep on the veggies. Every night I don't eat here is a night with at least some regret.
