Founding Farmers Tysons
Farm-to-table comfort-food spot

The Zagat Review
A “love for local, seasonal food” fuels this “farm-to-table” chainlet where “big portions” of “something-for-everyone” American dishes (e.g. red-velvet pancakes, bacon lollipops) are paired with “unusual homemade drinks” ; the rustic-chic settings are “always crowded” , and despite the “noise” , fans claim “you can’t go wrong” here.

After a long day of hiking nothing hits the spot like good American comfort food. The atmosphere and environment here was spot on for what you expect when you think Founding Farmers. My friends and I ordered the green fried tomatoes, crab dip as well as the fried chicken dinner, steak & enchiladas, fried chicken sandwich, and the fried country steak dinner. It was all amazing, everything tasted so delicious that we had no room for dessert. Which we regretted immediately, the dessert menu sounds heavenly. My favorite of the night was the jefferson donut you got with the fried chicken meal, you could order this as a dessert too. The donut was almost crunchy on the outside and inside there was a vanilla custard filling that will knock your socks off. Everything was good but if I go again, I think i will order a dozen donuts just to have throughout the day. All in all, amazing place for amazing food and I can't wait to come back.

Really good brunch buffet. Almost anything you could want including a carving station. Some of the food choices were unique like the hash brown with beets and goat cheese. Service is really good. My only real complaint is that throughout the meal, servers came up repeatedly offering special food such as candied bacon, fried shrimp, etc. and several times one server after the other would be offering the identical food. This made continuity in table conversation difficult. The food itself being offered was good.

Always a good choice. Not the cheapest place but the portions are good and the food is yummy. Always had friendly and capable wait staff. The Jefferson donuts are ridiculously good, when other people go I try and get them to bring me home a donut. I would also recommend the brunch, just don't fill up on the Jefferson donuts :). Make sure you get a reservation though. Hopefully they will open the one up in Reston metro soon.
