“Believe the hype” that’s built up around this East Austin “experience” , in which “melt-in-your-mouth” brisket, “unbelievable” ribs and pulled pork are doled out in modest digs from 11 AM till the eats run out (usually early) at what many claim is “hands-down” the “best” BBQ joint in town and "possibly the world" ; fans agree the “hours” -long waits are “well worth it."

Pulled pork was on point! Ribs had great seasoning and fall-off-the bone tender. Loved the spice in the sausage. Brisket was less than impressive with my KC comparatives. Coke from Mexico 👍🏼 Be ready to wait a few hours to build up a good appetite. Staff is what makes this place: friendly with update on expected wait when we arrived and all around good vibes.

Alright, this meat totally lives up to the hype!! I went with a group and we brought a cooler with some OJ and bubbly for the early morning wait. We got there a little before 8 am and were eating before noon. The brisket was to die for!! I usually love sauce but this didn't need any. So tender and perfectly seasoned! Definitely my favorite. As for sides, the potato salad wasn't the best I've had but the BBQ made up for it. Next time I'll skip the line and order ahead (I think you need at least 5lbs to do so). Thanks, Franklin!!

What else can be said about Franklin BBQ. Simply the best BBQ I've ever had. I've lived in several places in the south over the last 40+ years and seek out BBQ wherever I go. Franklin is by far the best. Second best, while extraordinary good, isn't even in the same league. Not sure how they do it ( I'm sure I'm not only in that). Many try to replicate and do a great job, but Franklin is Franklin.
