A “true New York steakhouse” with “history” , this circa-1927 Theater District “institution” delivers “melt-in-your-mouth” meat and “first-rate” wine in “clubby” surrounds watched over by a “polished” crew; the “old-school” package is “everything you’d expect” – right down to the “pricey” bill.

Tried a couple “5-Star” steakhouses during our trip and left disappointed each time, but Gallagher’s didn’t. What a remarkable experience. The staff was fantastic, the food spectacular, and the atmosphere perfect. Glad we saved the best for the last night. Make sure you try the mac&cheese side. The best I’ve ever had.

Expected a little bit more from this fine steakhouse. The steak was a bit chewier than we expected but the presentation with the bone was impressive. However the overall experience was good. Atmosphere is good, on the darker side, and it could get loud. The sides were very tasty.

Definitely the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. As it is one of the best steakhouses in New York it’s a high-class restaurant. Being on our tour we were dressed, let’s say, casual. But no problem. The service is also high-class but very cool as well. You just can’t pass the restaurant without wanting to get in, because there’s this huge window. Behind the pane: tons of dry-aged prime ribs 🤤 It’s expensive but definitely worth the money charged for.
