I liked the vibe of the restaurant, had some really cool artwork hanging on the walls and some cool light fixtures. They have some interesting drinks on the cocktail menu, one of which I thought was amazing. The food is a cool twist of what I would call Asian and contemporary American. The food was really good. I would definitely recommend this place for tapas, they had a bunch of different small sharing plates that I wanted to try. I'll be coming back here for sure.

I used to go here once a week at lunch. Then I got a job out of town and go at least once a month. Some of the everyday ingredients we're all familiar with I never knew could be prepped the way this place does it. Having visited India two times, the flavors are wonderfully reminiscent and I haven't found anything on their menu I didn't like. My only complaint is that a few of their specials are pricey for the small serving you get.

There are 3 main components of an outstanding dining experience, food, service, and decor - Garland hits all 3 out of the park. The menu is innovating and exciting but still approachable, and the food is undeniably delicious. They do some tapas style offerings and also large plates, but everything looks so good you will want to order as much as possible and share. I am a little wary of spicy food, but they hit all the right marks for me and my spicy-food enjoying companion. Importantly, our server knew the menu inside and out and could answer all our questions. There are some unfamiliar words, so being able to accurately communicate and set people's expectations is so key. He was attentive and engaged without hovering, and didn't rush us - which was especially nice on a Saturday night! The silverware, glasses, plates, even the bathrooms, were sparkling clean and well cared for. You can tell the people who work here take pride in the place. The music was quiet enough not to be obtrusive but present enough to set a nice relaxing tone for the dining room. Just perfect. It was the kind of dinner where you don't worry about anything and feel completely taken care of, which is incredibly difficult to find. This was one of my top 3 dining experiences in NC and I can't wait to go back. Raleigh is really on the rise!
