"Skip the chow mein" and explore the "great variety" of Chinese dishes at this "reliable old standard" in the heart of Chinatown – like seafood selected from "big tanks" and, during the day, "old-fashioned authentic dim sum" ; you'll have to order it from the "brisk" servers since there are "no carts" , and the "crowded" dining room is as "no-frills" as the service, but at least prices are "fair."

Very decent and authentic Chinese restaurant. The food is very flavorful. Only issue that people may have is if they feel compelled to order more than they can eat because of the pressure of the servers, but don't let that stop you. Just order what you know you can eat, it'll be fine. The service here is relatively quick once the food is ordered but flagging someone down to take your order or getting the check may take some time.

Restaurant was full but we were seated quickly. Waiter had to be flagged down to order food. Never took a drink order. There was tea on the table that wasn't very good. A girl came by with a tray of what looked like different types of bread. She didn't speak enough English to tell us what it was so we just picked one. Was not worth eating. They do add those to your bill by the way. The plate with mussels had a bunch of empty shells. The veggie fried rice was the equivalent of Panda Express (bland with barely any veggies). My husband did enjoy the rib plate. He says its the average downtown San Francisco Chinese Restaurant. I would not return. PLENTY of other places to choose from. There are a lot of Chinese people here so maybe the food is authentic but I think the staff can use a lesson in friendliness and courtesy.

This dim sum restaurant came recommended to me by family and I was not disappointed. Turnip cake, shrimp cilantro dumplings, pork/shrimp/mushroom dumplings and wonton soup made for an excellent lunch. Ground floor is nicer than the basement. But I didn’t come here for the decor.
