Habana Outpost
Seasonal Mexican-Cuban restaurant

The Zagat Review
“Must-have” grilled corn, “addicting” Cuban sandwiches and “strong” margaritas are highlights on the “tasty, affordable” menu at these “buzzy” Cuban-Mexican kitchens with sister to-go outlets; the “tiny” “dinerlike” NoLita original is “usually packed” with a “young” crowd, while “it’s all about the garden” at the seasonal, solar-powered Fort Greene outpost.

This was a new experience for me. The food was good. I loved the fact that seating was outside. It’s was a lot like “high school lunch”

Cheap. Cash only. Strong drinks, really strong drinks. Only opened seasonally ( I believe in April, around Easter to October.) They recently opened a To-Go location that is opened year round. Food have always been mediocre outside of the grilled corn. Drinks and the outdoor atmosphere are the only reasons to go other than the ability to get delicious elote (Latin style grilled corn). They actually have a seperate line for ordering just drinks and corn Im not kidding. If you're ordering anything else (tacos and such) your wait on line to order is longer than the actual wait for your food, if you go during the summer especially Friday and Saturday. Best thing about this location is the community outdoor seating. If that's not your vibe grab a drink and corn to-go at their fittingly named "..To-Go" location right across the street.
