A “destination-worthy” home to “honest” BBQ, this Red Hook “champ” supplies “terrific” Texas-style meats (think “melt-in-your-mouth” brisket and “caveman-sized” ribs) in a “converted garage” with a “roadhouse party vibe” ; “energetic” crowds line up for the counter service, but the “smoky” “excellence” “rewards the wait.”

WOW! BBQ in Brooklyn? YES! And what a great place it is and it's no longer a secret. The lines on weekends can seem daunting, but move fast and we'll worth the wait. It has achieved national attention and one of Red Hook"s greatest assets. I'm not sure if is by accident that the smells resound through the neighborhood well before Hometown is even open. The aroma atouses mouth watering anticipation. No wonder there's a line when the doors open. Ribs, pulled pork, sausage etc. And cocktails. To go containers are a necessity with portions. If you're not hungry, just come by to say "Hi" to the staff and you may just be given a little taste.

If you survive the line you will love the food. I had a fantastic experience at hometown. I tried the pull pork sandwich and it was just perfection. Just talking about it makes hungry And dying to go back. The sides were excellent and the overall atmosphere was just great (can't go wrong with 80s music in a BBQ place). Can't wait to go back and ask my friends to wait in line while I will be having a beer at the bar.

Carnivore's delight! The corn bread and macaroni & cheese are excellent! They were out of spare ribs but the brisket, pulled pork and turkey we're excellent, best I have had. Korean sticky ribs and spicy chicken wings were also amazing! Worth the wait and price.
