Service

"When you want a hunk o’ beef" , this Polk Gulch "institution" remains a go-to for a "classic" American meal of prime rib "cooked to perfection" and "carved at your table" , plus "all the fixin’s" ; with its "showy" service (behold the "spinning salad" ), "cold martinis" and "big, old-fashioned booths" , it’s a true "throwback" that rewards the "expense" – you can even "ask for seconds" – and while "nothing ever changes" here, fans say that's "part of the charm."

Delicious food, amazing portions, and amazing price. A must visit and a must return. We ended up bringing our own wine and the corking fee was reasonable. I believe it was $20. The salad they provide you at the beginning is just amazing. I would have eaten more of it had I not needed to eat steak. As for the steak, wow! They took it right in front of you, it is beautifully sliced, and cooked just right based on my request. It was very juicy, not too fatty, and so soft. I'm not huge on steak, but was very impressed by the HOPR. The service there is superb and the prices are extremely reasonable for the fanciness of the venue. Highly recommended for dates, casual dinners, or business dinners (mine was for business).

Absolutely the best prime rib I've ever had. The sides are pretty good, as well, but honestly they could have served dog turds next to that meat and they'd still be getting 5 stars. The wait is pretty long, but there is a great little lounge with table service for drinks. Go early, put your name in, have some drinks, and then feast. You're welcome.

Holy prime rib heaven! If you love prime rib then you have to go here. Not only is the prime rib amazing but the salad is also to die for. They have a good drink menu and decent wine selection. My husband gets us reservations every year for my birthday. I'm still trying to convince him that we should also celebrate my half birthday here but I haven't succeeded.
