This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. I love eating sushi because of the intimacy with the chef, but Chef Derek takes that experience to another level. His knowledge and ability to translate Japanese cuisine to me, as a native New Yorker, absolutely made this experience; the fact that he is hilarious and LOVES what he does elevates this dinner. The wine and sake director was so knowledgeable and made the experience of picking a wine and sake fun and dynamic part of the experience. They also have some very cool and highly allocated wines for a great price. I cannot wait to go back and was already craving his food the next morning! That was hands down the best piece of Kohada I have had in NYC.

Great experience. Hospitality at its finest. Space is nice and quaint. Great pacing of meal with excellent selection of fish for the sushi and sashimi aspects.

Spectacular Omakase! One of the best in NYC and on the higher end, $250. Intimate setting at an L shape counter that seats around 12 people. Well curated drinks menu and attentive polished service.
