Ramen & sake in sleek, minimalist digs
A famed Japanese ramen shop makes its West Coast debut in Berkeley, where patrons line up for the chain’s tonkotsu bowls (with a choice of noodle texture), pork buns and izakaya plates, plus sake, beer and wine. The sleek interior is outfitted in wood and metal, and an open kitchen adds to the buzzy atmosphere.

Good but different from the NY and Asia locations. Went with a party of 6 and waited 2 hours on a Sunday. I noticed that they used the same type of noodle for all broths, but I distinctly remember that at other locations noodles were paired with specific broths... also, appetizer selection does not seem as varied as other locations.

Fairly decent ramen, but I prefer Orenchi in Santa Clara. I like that you can choose the firmness of the noodles, but that was negated by the fairly bland egg. A tad on the pricey side, but isn't that out of range for the area. I do have to give them credit for how well managed the line was and the service was great.

Overpriced for average tasting ramen. Price starts at $15 for most of them. If you're looking for good service, come here. If you're here for delicious ramen, forget about it. I was starving when I got my ramen and it didn't taste good. Only finished the bowl because I was so hungry. My sister ate 3 bites and stopped eating. I gave it 3 stars for the service not the food.
