Service

A “little slice of Italy” near Bloomingdale's, this “throwback” Italian has been serving “classic” red-sauce fare via “old-world” staffers since 1955; OK, so it's “nothing exciting” , but the “rustic” trattorialike setting is “cozy” , and it's “been around forever” – with a “loyal following” – for “good reason.”

Freddy is the best. Excellent service and food. The ambiance is also excellent. We’ve been to Capri and this place exceeds the experience we had while there. Highly recommended!!

Terrible service. Nothing special on the menu. The waiter was not helpful at all to recommend a dish or explain one. We asked him later for Parmesan cheese, he went and never came back. At the end of the evening I asked another waiter to bring our check. Of course I left no tip. Our original waiter came following us asking why I did not leave any tip! I explained to him why. His boss overheared and came apologizing. I told him that we had enough of this mediocre restaurant and we left.
