American steakhouse with hearty portions
Steakhouse · Marina District · $$$
Family-owned and famous for choice cuts and hearty sides, this mini-chain of highbrow Bay Area steakhouses offers a classic old-school vibe (think dark wood, big booths and vintage accents) with wine and cocktails, big portions of corn-fed beef, fresh seafood and thick-cut pork chops, plus housemade desserts.

We were going to be in San Francisco for the weekend and before we left on our trip this place was recommended to us. We wanted to make sure we fit it in while we were there. We went on a Saturday night with an 8pm reservation. Got seated promptly to my surprise. The place was busy. Staff was amazing, got seated in a cozy space upstairs and enjoyed the best steak of my life. I am definitely going back there the next time I am in San Francisco.

Traditional steakhouse with an authentic feel. This is not one of those high end overpriced steak houses, but a comfortable neighborhood restaurant with a lot of history, that offers all of the traditional favorites you would expect from a good steakhouse. Steaks are tender and well seasoned. Service is outstanding. A couple of tv screens make sure you're not missing that night's Giants or Warriors game. Prices are fair, considering that this is SF. The condiment bottles throughout (see pics) are a nice touch.

If you had an unfavorable experience here, it's because they don't like you. It's not their fault that you're unlikable. I, on the other hand, love this place. Big steaks, strong drinks, seasoned staff. My kind of hang.
